So. If I picked him up again, the following:

- Disappears around the holidays. Picked up for loitering, drugs found in his bag, spends the night in lockdown when his father can't be reached.

- Dad finally shows up, takes him home, and the big fight happens. Dad loses an eye, Anthony gets generally stomped: broken nose, right hand, bunch of ribs, internal bleeding. Neighbors call cops eventually over the noise.

- Anthony spends time in hospital, then [juvie? asylum?]. Applies to be an emancipated minor, but has no current job to support himself with. Possible degrading job or two? [pizza delivery boy? Movie theatre]

- Moved to halfway house? Ted's juvie/complex/apartment/whatever? Mehmehmehmeh.

Other points:
1) Just handwave the damn drug thing, stop trying to get other people involved.
2) It's ok to let other people come to him.
